Nagavara Ramarao Narayana Murthy is an Indian billionaire businessman and an IITian. He is one of the seven co-founders of Infosys. Narayana Murthy’s IIT rank enabled him to pursue his post-graduation from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. He went to the National Institute of Engineering and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 1967.

Narayana Murthy was born into a middle-class on 20 August 1946 in Sidlaghatta, a city in India’s southwestern state of Karnataka. He is from a Kannada Hindu family. After completing his school education, he completed his graduation in electrical engineering from the National Institute of Engineering.

He received his bachelor’s degree in 1967. In 1969 he received his master’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
