Indian experimental physicist, author
Harish Chandra Verma is popularly known as HCV. The name is majorly famous among students. He is the one to have written several schools, undergraduate and graduate-level textbooks. He authored the most popular books used by aspiring students named- Concepts of Physics in two volumes. He is an Indian experimental physicist, author, and emeritus professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur).
Also, he is the co-founder of Shiksha Sopan, a social upliftment organization for economically weaker children living near the campus of IIT Kanpur.
In 2021, he was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award, by the Government of India for his contribution to Physics. Later, he has been awarded the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Shiksha Puruskar by the Bihar state government.

Former Chairman of Microsoft India
Bhaskar Pramanik was born in West Bengal, India. He graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Later, he also attended the Advanced Marketing Management Program at Stanford University.
Earlier he was the Managing Director of Oracle and then became the Chairman of Microsoft India. He retired from Microsoft in September 2017. Pramanik has been actively involved with the Indian IT industry since 1982. He is a member of various committees in CII, MAIT, NASSCOM and was the Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce, Karnataka, in 2003-2004. He is a member of the Executive Council of NASSCOM.

Co-Founder of Infosys
Nagavara Ramarao Narayana Murthy is an Indian billionaire businessman. He is one of the seven co-founders of Infosys. He has been in several top positions before retiring and taking the title of chairman emeritus he served as the chairman, chief executive officer (CEO), president, and chief mentor of the company.
He started Infosys in 1981 and was the CEO from 1981 to 2002. And from 2002 to 2011 he served as the company’s chairman. Murthy has been listed among the 12 greatest entrepreneurs of our time by Fortune magazine. Also, he has been described as the “father of the Indian IT sector” by Time magazine and CNBC for his contribution to outsourcing in India.
Former chief executive officer and chairman of US Airways Group
Rakesh Gangwal is an Indian-American billionaire businessman. He is the co-founder and 37% owner of IndiGo airline. He did a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 1975, and an MBA degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
He is the former CEO and chairman of US Airways Group. From June 2003 to August 2007, Gangwal was the chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Worldspan Technologies. He was the president and CEO of US Airways Group from 1998 until his resignation in 2001.
In 2020, he was ranked No. 359 in the Forbes 400 list of the richest people in America.
Actor, Producer, Technologist
Prakash Bare made an impression in the film industry. He is an Indian theater and film actor focusing on Malayalam, English, and other South Indian language productions. Prakash is a multi-talented head who is also a technologist and entrepreneur. He did a master’s in Microelectronics from IIT Kanpur.
He was a co-founder of one of the pioneering Electronic Design Services(EDS) companies named GDA Technologies Inc. Along with his entrepreneurial journey, Prakash Bare has acted in more than 30 films. Prakash is best known for his depiction of poet KP Madhavan Nair in Ivan Megharoopan.
Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Authority
Ram Sewak Sharma is an Indian bureaucrat and former civil servant. He was born in Uttar Pradesh. He did his master’s in Mathematics from IIT, Kanpur, in 1978, and a PhD from IIT, Delhi.
IN 1978, Ram Sewak Sharma became the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). Later, he became the first Director General of the Unique Identification Authority of India. There he helped create the 12-digit identity number, called the Aadhaar number. He has also authored a book titled The Making of Aadhaar: World’s Largest Identity Platform.
In August 2015, he was appointed the Chairman of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). In February 2021, Sharma was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Authority of India.

Lalit Jalan is the Advisor & former Chief Executive Officer of Reliance Infrastructure, part of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG). Lalit Jalan was born in Kolkata. He completed his electrical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 1979. He did an MBA from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 1981 and MS (Computer Science) from Moore School of Engineering.
Jalan started his career at General Electric as a Strategic Planner. Currently, he is the Chairman of BSES Rajdhani Power Limited and BSES Yamuna Power Limited and serves as Director of Reliance Defence Ltd.
Director in the National Highways Authority of India
Satyendra Dubey was an IIT Kanpur alumnus. Indian Engineering Service (IES) officer. He did his graduation in Civil Engineering from IIT Kanpur, and complete his M.Tech (Civil Engg.) from the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University.
He was the Project Director at the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) at Koderma, Jharkhand. He is responsible for managing a part of the Aurangabad-Barachatti section of National Highway 2 (The Grand Trunk Road).
On 27 November 2003, he was killed for exposing corruption in the NHAI project.

17th Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India
Krishnamurthy Venkata Subramanian is an Indian economist who served as the 17th youngest Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India from 2018 to 2021. Subramanian was born in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. He studied electrical engineering at IIT Kanpur and Master of Business Administration from IIM Calcutta. He received a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in financial economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
He was a member of the board of directors at Bandhan Bank, the National Institute of Bank Management, and the Reserve Bank of India Academy.

Umang Gupta was an Indian-American entrepreneur. He was the founder of enterprise software company Gupta Technologies.
He did his Bachelor of Technology degree in chemical engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1971. He earned an M.B.A. degree from Kent State University in 1972.
Gupta was chairman and chief executive officer of Keynote Systems from December 1997. He also, served as an advisor and investor in William Draper’s project to establish a venture capital fund for India.
